Staunton Singers - a brief history

In 2015 a visit from Rev Sean Semple in Staunton-on Wye was the trigger for starting a choir.

“Thanks for coffee, and Mary… if you could do the choir I’ll get the congregation!"

Staunton-on-Wye Community Choir was born.

We started with eight singing at the local pub, courtesy of the landlord. Friends played keyboard for us, which was lovely.

When more joined we moved to Staunton Primary School hall.

Zoom in lockdown was a great way of keeping in touch. Our accompanist played over the airwaves and we joined in the best we could!

As restrictions lifted we met outside, which was great fun.

Singing is uplifting and joyful, we love it !
